Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reportedly seized a foreign-flagged vessel on Monday. It was transporting nearly 11 million litres of what’s known as smuggled fuel in the waters of the Persian Gulf, per the Student News Network’s channel on Telegram.

Iran, which has some of the lowest fuel prices in the world owing to heavy subsidies and a rise in the value of the national currency, has been fighting against rampant smuggling of fuel to neighbouring nations by land and sea to the Gulf Arab states.
