Bulk carrier Alexis runs aground in Bosphorus Strait

The freighter Alexis, en route from Ukraine to Egypt, ran aground in the Bosphorus Strait. Vessel traffic has been suspended in both directions, according to the Turkish Coast Guard Department, allmarinenews informs referring to denizhaber.com.

“The 229-meter vessel ran aground near Haydarpasa due to engine failure. Coast Guard tugboats were immediately sent to the vessel. Vessel movement was temporarily suspended in both directions,” reads the statement.
