Demining of Ukraine's key ports may take months, UN Maritime Special Adviser Peter Adams said, allmarinenews informs, citing Ukraine media.
According to Adams, nearly 80 ships with around 450 sailors on board remain blocked in Ukraine ports. A third of them are from the Philippines, but there are also many people from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Syria.
He also said that even if ports want to open tomorrow, it will take some time before ships can enter or leave.
"It will take months to completely dispose of sea mines in port areas," Adams said.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry announced that for the export of Ukrainian grain by sea, Russia must withdraw its fleet and provide security guarantees on non-aggression against ports and commercial convoys.
